Just one week until our pop up at Ben’s Centeen in Earlsfield with France and Noonan!
Ben’s Canteen has a bit of a special place in our hearts. Gareth and I used to live in Earlsfield, and after a busy Saturday trading, we decided to treat ourselves to a nice Sunday lunch. Except the lunch we had was pretty terrible (not at Ben’s Canteen)…so terrible in fact, that we decided to have a second lunch at Ben’s Canteen which completely rescued our Sunday, and for that, we’re thankful! As traders, days off together are a rarity and Sundays are special to us!
Ben’s Canteen is a really lovely neighbourhood restaurant, (with two locations Battersea and Earlsfield). They serve brunch and dinner 7 days a week (along with some really great cocktails) in their beautifully light, bright space which they’re kindly lending us for the evening on Thurs Dec 11.
For our #CollaborAsian pop up, we’ve teamed up with France & Noonan (run by Ben and Aneesha)- fantastic street food traders that serve up handmade flat breads and delicious Indian curries. They’re one of our favourite street food traders of all time as their curries are addictive, rich and perfectly balanced (which they mix with amazing chutneys and pickles.)
At #Collaborasian, we’ll be mixing the flavours of India and Korea for a special one night only menu. Dishes include “Bindaetteok,” a crispy Korean mung bean pancake which we’ve giving a South Asian twist with coconut and a touch of cumin. There’s also a Korean/Indian cod curry – inspired by (my favourite curry) the Vindaloo, with a tangy tamarind sauce that’s given a kick of Korean gochujang for heat and a bit of sweetness.
The flavours compliment each other (surprisingly) well, and we’ve been excited to discover the similarities and overlaps between the two cuisines. Come and try it for yourself! Book tickets via Billetto or Edible Experiences and join us for a #CollaborAsian feast!
